Duckwall-ALCO reported a decrease of 2.5% in net sales and a 2.9% decline in same-store sales in February (the 10th consecutive negative result), compared to a 9.4% gain in the same period last year. Rich Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented: “February same-store sales were negatively impacted by a decrease in store traffic, primarily due to record setting snowfall across a number of our markets. We remain positive about our merchandise positioning and marketing as we enter into the spring selling period. We are committed to delivering a powerful value proposition and merchandise offering that meets the needs of our customers.” |
